Red Alert 2 on Browser even on Mobile! (2023)

How does the game play? I tried it on my PC and for some reason it didn’t like my graphics card. But later I played on a different computer without any problems. The game play was pretty much the same as if you had the game installed locally.  The animations are smooth and good looking. The game feels like it was “ported” from OpenRA engine, but that is hardly a bad thing. I was pretty pleased by the game that is an extremely early stages of alpha. 

Then I played Red Alert 2 Chrono Divide on my mobile phone. Android, Xiaomi Redmi 10 . Here everything went smoothly, no issues until I actually entered the game. While everything ran smoothly here I couldn’t figure out how to move across the map (without using the radar). There was a significant delay from me clicking a unit and it being selected. And the full screen option actually limited my view to just part of the game’s window. Now because this is an alpha, me having quite an old phone this isn’t a big issue. Yet. 

So is it worth playing Red Alert 2 on a browser or even on mobile? Not quite yet. I mean if this is the only means you have of playing the game? Go for it! But I’d still opt to buy Red Alert 2 on origin, use the Xwis multiplayer release or even go and find the OpenRA version of Red Alert 2 that is free but from what I know, not yet complete.
